Description

Serves 1-2

This hearty Goulash soup makes a satisfying meal for one, or serves two as a starter.

Express Meals the German Way

Known as “Gulaschsuppe” in Germany, translating to “Goulash Soup” in English, this dish has it’s origins in Hungary but has become a staple of German cuisine. The rich paprika based soup is packed with onion, potato and beef, making for a very tasty and satisfying meal.

Great with Crusty Bread

Thick and chunky, our Gulaschsuppe makes for a substantial meal for one or starter sized portions for two. We like to serve ours with some crusty bread and Letscho (Hungarian tomato sauce) on the side, but it would also be perfect with a cheese sandwich or other dipping sides.

Ready to Heat

The Gulaschsuppe arrives frozen from The Sausage Man, but it’s precooked and ready to reheat. It takes just a few minutes on the hob after defrosting, and can be heated in the microwave too. Our express German meals are designed to be both easy to prepare and delicious, giving you the best possible dining experience when you don’t have time to cook from scratch.

Handmade by German Butchers

Like the rest of the express German meals in our range, our Gulaschsuppe is handmade by German master butchers. Cooked in the kitchens of one of our award winning German butchers, the beef in our goulash soup is sourced in Germany as are the other ingredients wherever possible.

Real German Recipes

All of our express German meals are made with real family recipes, passed down from butcher to butcher, making our Gulaschsuppe as authentic as possible. Our range includes speciality dishes from the Black Forest to Bavaria, and from the Swabian Alps to Lake Constance, with more recipes being added very soon.”

We had this as a main course served with plenty of home made garlic bread and it was delicious. Definitely one to re-order.

Tastes like I remember a typical Gulaschsuppe! Had it with a nice crusty bread and really enjoyed it. For a main it doesn’t serve two if you’re hungry though. 😁

We had this as a starter- delicious but it was quite meaty and filling so substantial enough for a main. Great with a pretzel.

Lovely tasty Goulash, that take me back in time. I’d advise to cook on a low heat for an hour or two to break down the beef so it melts in your mouth.. Great with sour dough bread to dunk.

I am a huge fan of Austrian Goulash soup but this was completely different, very salty, not enough Paprika and the meat was a bit chewy for my liking but I got 2 big portions out of the pack.
