Leberkäse, also refereed to as a German Meatloaf. A delicious meatloaf-shaped, mixed pork and beef meat dish with fantastic flavourings, it really is mouth-wateringly tasty. A real smooth taste with finely ground ingredients which make it a brilliant side or main meat in a dish.
The translation of Leberkäse in German is “Liver Cheese” however it does not contain either of those products? Here is some of the history on the meatloaf from Wikipedia:
Said to have been invented in 1776, although this story has been heavily contested. The name “Leberkäse” literally translates to “liver-cheese” but developed by folk etymology from an archaic form of the word Laib (“loaf”) and Käse (“cheese”) (cf. English “head cheese”); not all products bearing the name necessarily contain liver or cheese, let alone both.
