The Lüttje Mettenden are a specialty sausage from central and northern Germany. They are cured smoked sausages, made from minced pork and bacon. In Germany these tasty sausages are commonly used within soup and stews.

How to serve your Lüttje Mettenden

Lüttje Mettenden provide a hearty upgrade for any kind of stew. Boil the sausages directly in your stew or soup and let the smoky fragrance flavour the entire meal.

Great with any kind of stew and especially German Grünkohl

Extremely versatile, add these sausages to any stew or soup. You won’t be disappointed. For northern Germans Lüttje Mettenden are also ideal for the Grünkohl (kale) dish. Traditionally served alongside Lüttje Pinkel.

Pork, pork bacon, table salt, spices (with MUSTARD SEED), dextrose, antioxidants: ascorbic acid and sodium ascorbate, dried glucose syrup, natural spice extracts, preservative: sodium nitrite and potassium nitrate, acidifier: citric acid, pig intestines, ripening cultures, beech wood smoke.

How to Handle this Lüttje Mettenden

Cooking instructions

Cooking pot alone: Boil the sausages in water once, then simmer for about 15 minutes just before the boiling point.

Cooking pot with stew: Simply boil the sausages together with your stew in the saucepan. Just make sure that they are fully submerged so they get heated equally and thoroughly.

Frying pan and stew: The Mettenden can also be cut into slices and briefly fried before you can add them to the stew or eat alone.

Shelf life

When the goods are received, please store them in the fridge immediately, keep them chilled at max +7C° and use within 30 days or within 3 days after opening, whichever is sooner.

Safety

Heat thoroughly and serve.
