Our German Artisan Breads like this mixed rye and wheat bread are some of the best in the world. The German family-run bakery has built up a reputation for quality over 150 years, with the family’s youngest son just qualified as an award winning bread-sommelier.

Come with us on an adventure tour in the mountains of the Sauerland.

Try a Organic German multigrain mixed rye and wheat bread (Hüttenbrot: hut bread) from our famous German producer. Arrived at a cozy mountain hut on a sunny autumn day on a hike through Germanys beautiful Sauerland. Our triangular-shaped hut bread should remind of this.

A mixture of sun-ripened wheat and rye grown on sandy soil forms the basic structure for our bread. The finest oat flakes, juicy pumpkin seeds, crunchy sunflower seeds and golden-yellow sesame are roasted and added to the batter, creating a roasted, nutty aroma. A successful combination of a crunchy, roasted crust with the sour, malty flavors from the crumb.

Ideal for a snack as a companion to rustic sausage and cold cuts, tastes great with a freshly tapped Pils from the Sauerland. Have fun enjoying yourself and your wellbeing!

The hut bread is a particularly rich multi-grain bread. It is baked in a special triangular shape – so the moisture is retained as it can hardly escape. That makes the bread particularly juicy. Try it and you will get hooked!

Cooking instructions & storage

Cooking instructions

No need to heat, just thaw and serve. If you would like to warm your bread a little before eating, we recommend defrosting it fully and popping it in the oven at around 170°C/150°C (fan) for 10 to 15 mins. You can also cut slices off a frozen loaf, please do this carefully, and pop directly in the toaster for a few minutes.

What others are saying

  1. Great bread - what more can you say?!

    Matthew Johns (verified owner)

This is really tasty bread – lovely and dense (don’t hit anyone over the head with the loaf, even when it’s defrosted!), with a really good chewy texture. It doesn’t dry out quickly as inferior breads might, and is fantastic toasted, just buttered, with cheese, with beer, with meat, with anything! One of my new favourite breads – reminded me of good breakfasts in Berlin!
