Tuck into these tasty Pork Steaks
You may have noticed when visiting Germany that pork steak sandwiches are one of the country’s favourite culinary treats! Pork shoulder steak is the meat of choice for these fantastic bun-fillers. Served in restaurants across Germany, at BBQs, and during cultural events (like Oktoberfest)! What makes this German pork steak so special? In this case, the secret is in both the meat and the sauce.
The Schweinenackensteak (pork shoulder steak) is made from the neck of the pig. Neck steaks stand out in how juicy and tender and flavourful they are. The large amounts of muscular fat makes for great taste and keeps the meat tender while being roasted or grilled. This is why you get tasty steaks from the pork neck, both for grilling and pan frying.
German Herby Marinade
This delicious Herb Marinade is one of the best things about these Pork Shoulder Steaks. Because they’re packaged in the marinade, you can be certain that these pork shoulder steaks have absorbed plenty of flavour before they touch your grill. We currently have four Pork Shoulder Steak marinade options – including Mustard, Dark Beer and Beer Marinade.
Essential Oktoberfest Fare
If you have been to an Oktoberfest event in the UK, then the chances are good that you’ve already tried one of our German Pork shoulder steaks. We’ve been supplying event organisers with authentic Oktoberfest fare for over 15 years in the UK, directly from one of our Master German Butchers, so you can be sure that this pork steak will be exactly like you’d find it at your favourite German festival.
Grilled to Perfection in Minutes
Our tasty German Pork Neck Steaks arrive frozen from The Sausage Man, so they will need to be defrosted before cooking. We like our pork shoulder steaks on a bed of traditional Sauerkraut (German Fermented Cabbage), and a side of creamy mashed potatoes or Bratkartoffeln – German Fried Potatoes.

How to Cook and Store Our Pork Shoulder Steaks
Minimum 6 to 8 minutes from chilled – defrost for 24 hours in the fridge to get best results.
This is a fully seasoned uncooked/raw product.
BBQ/Grill: The easiest way to cook the steaks is on any BBQ. Just place them on top of the grill and cook them for about 3 to 4 minutes each side and carefully flip them over (checking in between). Once both sides are cooked, take them off the BBQ and let them rest under a cover for about 1-2 minutes for the meat juices to settle. The steaks should be tender and soft but not raw inside.
Pan Fry: add veg/cooking oil or butter to a frying pan, heat up and place the pork steaks inside, brown off on both sides for about 5 minutes on a medium heat.
Oven Cook: preheat oven to 200/180 degrees (fan) and cook for 20 minutes, turning half way through cooking.
These steaks are uncooked – defrost safely in the fridge before cooking, then just heat and serve.
