Cooking and Serving Our Delicious Sour Roast Beef
Four slices of German marinated beef in a red wine sauce, with the sweet and sour Swabian flavour combination that’s famous across Germany.
Known as “Sauerbraten” in Germany, meaning “Sour Roast”, this dish of heavily marinated beef is a dish of huge renown. The rich flavour of the roasted pickled beef has to be tasted to be believed, and is complimented by the sweetness of the red wine sauce. This dish makes for a substantial meal for two with accompanying sides.
Great with Roast Potatoes
Our Sauerbraten goes fantastically with roast potatoes, but would also work well with rice, Bratkartoffeln or Spätzle. We also recommend a side of Rotkohl (red cabbage) on the side, as well as bread rolls for mopping up the red wine gravy sauce. Choose a selection of sides and enjoy this gorgeous pickled beef as a substantial meal for two!
