Flavoursome Lentil Ragout from The Sausage Man

Introducing one of The Sausage Man’s best-loved vegan dishes, Schwäbische Linsen. A perfect plant-based alternative to a traditional beef ragout, this lentil broth packs a punch! It’s the ultimate comfort food to enjoy when you need a pick me up, with its exquisite taste and texture making this one of our most popular vegan products.

Whether you’re looking for meat-free alternatives to your favourite traditional German dishes or you’re catering to someone who prefers beans over beef, our delectable Swabian lentil ragout is a premium choice.

Why not order your very own portion of our classic Schwäbische Linsen to see for yourself? We can’t recommend it highly enough!

Swabian Lentil Ragout Serving Tips

Our seasoned lentil broth is quick to prepare and impossibly easy to eat! It’s ideal to enjoy as a starter or alongside Spätzle (Bavarian egg pasta) as a hearty meal for two. If you’re looking for authentic German ready meals offering the convenience of being entirely pre-prepared, then our Swabian lentil ragout is a top choice for you.

Taking only a few minutes to warm through on the hob, or even in a covered container in the microwave, this German lentil ragout arrives frozen and precooked. All of our German ready meals are made to extremely high standards, ensuring they are both quick and easy to heat while still tasting fantastic.

Traditional German Ready Meals

The Sausage Man’s gorgeous German ready meals are all made using the finest ingredients, by hand, in the kitchens of one of our award winning German butchers. The meats used come from German sources, as do the other ingredients wherever possible, and this German lentil ragout is no exception.

What’s more, each of our traditional German ready meals is prepared by master butchers using tried-and-tested family recipes, meaning they’re as authentic as possible. We’re proud to offer speciality dishes inspired by many German regions, with favourites from the Black Forest, Bavaria, Lake Constance and the Swabian Alps ready to be enjoyed.

I’m not a veggie and I don’t think I could ever be one, but I do want to reduce my impact on the planet a little so I’m cutting out meat 2 or 3 days a week. This Schwäbische Linsen (with Spätzle in my case) provides a very hearty and tasty vegetarian meal – somthing which I’d only heard about before!

This went down well with 3 veggies and a meat eater. Mixed with spätzle as recommended, it was an easy and tasty meal. Definitely a repurchase.
