German Game Goulash
Known as “Wildgulasch” in Germany, meaning “Game Goulash” in English, this dish has origins in Hungary but has become a German staple. The rich paprika based sauce smothers huge chunks of venison, to create a satisfying and substantial meal for two.
Great with Rice
Our Wildgulasch goes fantastically with plain or flavoured rice, Spätzle or Bratkartoffeln – we used pilau when we tried it recently – but would also work well with potatoes. We also recommend a side of Letscho (Hungarian tomato sauce) on the side, and some crusty bread to help mop up the delicious goulash gravy sauce.
Heat Through in Minutes
The Wildgulasch is delivered frozen from The Sausage Man, and is precooked ready for reheating. It takes just a few minutes in the pan after defrosting, and can be heated in the oven or microwave too. Our German venison goulash is designed to be quick to cook and extremely tasty, providing the best possible dining experience when cooking in a hurry.
German Butcher’s Kitchen
Like all the premade meals in our range, our German venison goulash is made by hand by master butchers in Germany. From the hunting ranges of German royalty to the kitchens of one of our award winning German butchers, the game in our goulash is sourced locally in Germany. We only offer game from the forest and fields of the Prince of Hohenzollern. Each piece of game comes from the surrounding area, for which we have received the award of the state hunting association “Game from the region”.
