What is a Currywurst?
To be clear – there is no curry in this currywurst – it’s not a curry flavoured sausage. Though such things do exist in Germany, more commonly in recent times, the traditional way of making currywurst is using a smoked Frankfurter, Bockwurst or Bratwurst (depending on where you’re from), covering in ketchup or curry ketchup and sprinkling with curry powder. The VW Currywurst is made specifically for this purpose, and makes a perfect sausage for this schnellimbiss dish!

Cooking times
5 minutes from chilled. 10 minutes from frozen.
Cooking instructions
Remove artificial casing (as pictured)! Grill, Griddle, Oven, Microwave, Bain Marie, Steamer, Deep and Shallow Fry.
Shelf life
When goods are received, please store in freezer immediately and defrost the items before using. Once defrosted, keep the items chilled, if unopened use with 14 days. Once opened, use the products within a few days.

Intrigued by the VW link, I bought some of these. They were monster in size and really good quality. A few minutes on the griddle and then into a bun with some of the mustard sold on here and they were a real hit with everyone. Excellent.

Was dubious with the VW branding, but this wurst delivers a good size as well. I did mine in the oven, and enjoyed with German mayo and curry sauce. But remember to remove the plastic wrapper 😆 Will be buying again.
