The Castle, the first Seared brand pub, kicked off its Oktoberfest party with a bang by presenting potentially UK’s largest bratwurst ever made!

On a sunny day that will go down in sausage history, the grounds of Castle Droitwich became the stage for a record-breaking 12.12-metre bratwurst! Yes, you heard that right! 12.12 metre Bratwurst!

The Bratwurst length, 12.12 metres, symbolises the 1,212km between Munich, the home of Oktoberfest, and The Castle.

STein- holding competition

The celebration was more than just breaking records; indeed it was about creating an unforgettable experience that transported visitors straight to the heart of Munich.

Hundreds of pub-goers got to taste history, sampling our magnificent 12.12-metre bratwurst, and their smiles were worth every metre of the UK longest bratwurst crafted.

Oktoberfest wouldn’t be complete without the traditional Masskrugstemmen (stein-holding competition). Contestants put their arm strength to the test, holding full beer steins at arm’s length. Naturally, the competition brought out plenty of laughs and a competitive spirit as participants vied for Bavarian glory.

Oompah Band

Adding to the festive atmosphere, a live Oompah band filled the air with the sounds of tubas, accordions, and traditional German music.

From classic drinking songs to beloved German folk tunes, the band transformed The Castle into a mini Munich beer hall.

Moreover, the lively music had everyone swinging their steins and dancing, making the celebration a true Oktoberfest experience!

When Seared Pubs approached us, we were keen to take on this challenge.

We’ve been making bratwursts for decades using a recipe that’s been handed down from generation to generation in Germany – it’s as traditional as you can get.

It’s exciting to know that there will be enough of this authentic bratwurst for everyone to try, alongside other Oktoberfest staples like schnitzel and Bavarian beer.
