What is a Currywurst?
To be clear – there is no curry in this currywurst – it’s not a curry flavoured sausage. Though such things do exist in Germany, more commonly in recent times, the traditional way of making currywurst is using a smoked Frankfurter, Bockwurst or Bratwurst (depending on where you’re from), covering in ketchup or curry ketchup and sprinkling with curry powder. The VW Currywurst is made specifically for this purpose, and makes a perfect sausage for this schnellimbiss dish!

Cooking times
5 minutes from chilled. 10 minutes from frozen.
Cooking instructions
Remove artificial casing (as pictured)! Grill, Griddle, Oven, Microwave, Bain Marie, Steamer, Deep and Shallow Fry.
Shelf life
When goods are received, please store in freezer immediately and defrost the items before using. Once defrosted, keep the items chilled, if unopened use with 14 days. Once opened, use the products within a few days.
Safety
The sausage is 100% pre-cooked, just heat and serve or even eat cold. Risk free.

it’s not easy to find a proper German sausage place in the UK for a good Currywurst. I’ve placed several order since late last year and will continue to do so as this currywurst is just amazing!

Bought these on a Wednesday and they arrived on Friday along with the VW ketchup, curry powder and chip spice. These are the bumblebee’s buzzer,i really can’t fault them. Both the taste and the texture are spot on, along with a helping of chips a great tasty meal.

We had the VM Currywurst and Tomato Sauce. We (well, my wife) slightly sliced the sausages diagonally then I grilled them so they were brown and slightly crispy. These went into a bun (from The Sausage Man) and had the sauce draped over them.
They were delicious, quite messy and had a fantastic texture. The jumbo hot dog rolls from The Sausage Man weren’t really big enough to handle these 10″ beasts but were okay-ish. I’m not really sure what you can do about that without going for a baguette!
We bought one pack to try them but as soon as they are in stock I will be buying a few more packs to keep in the freezer. These really are a treat!
