Vienna sausages, typically called “wieners” in Germany, are one of Europe’s favourite Frankfurters. Produced using spiced ham, their smokiness means they’re very similar to traditional North American hot dogs! They are slightly longer and thinner than American dogs, with a lighter casing, and taste just as delicious when served with mustard and ketchup.

How to Cook and Store Vienna Sausages
Shelf life
When goods are received, please store in freezer immediately and defrost the items before using. Once defrosted, keep the items chilled, if unopened use with 14 days. Once opened, use the products within a few days.
Safety
The sausage is 100% pre-cooked, just heat and serve or even eat cold. Risk free.
Cooking times
5 minutes from chilled. 10 minutes from frozen.

I’ve worked in the States many times, particularly New York and Chicago and these beef dogs are the real deal. A lot of people make the mistake that hot dogs are made of pork, no, proper US hot dogs are made of beef, with natural casing. If you can find Beaver Brand Coney Island Hot Dog Mustard to go with them (Booths supermarket ‘The Waitrose of the North’ stock it) and some decent sauerkraut, then it’s heaven in a bun right there!
