Description
German and Italian cuisine have relatively little in common. However, Bavaria – the southernmost state of Germany closest geographically to Italy – has a dish that is commonly known as ‘German pasta’. Made using a mixture of egg, wheat, water, salt, oil and citric acid, Spätzle pasta has a tradition that stretches back to at least the 18th century in South Germany.
