Top Drinks For The Festive Season

With Christmas just around the corner, it’s impossible to ignore the sweet wafts of cinnamon in the air, roasting chestnuts, and the smell of pine tree.

Here are some of our favourite Christmas drinks to keep you going until the new year

And of course, what better than to sit in the cold, wrapped up warm, with your favourite beverage keeping you merry.

Drink for the festive season

Mulled Wine / Glühwein

A Winter must-have. In the UK, mulled wine is made with a mix of cinnamon, star anise, sugar, lemon zest and cloves, brewed for hours in simmering red wine. It’s no different in Germany – except we add oranges, ginger, and a dash of brandy or rum. We recommend our Mozers brandy if you’re making it at home.

This drink is probably our #1 fave as it’s warming, soothing, and keeps the hands warm against the frosty evening air. You can most likely find mulled wine at any local Christmas Market, often supplied by The Sausage Man, or even from your neighbourhood pub.

Eggnog is a great drink for the festive season

Enjoy this festive beverage with or without alcohol – both taste delicious. Eggnog is made with eggs, sugar, milk, and cream, with an added dash of nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves and vanilla extract (and if you’re feeling it, some rum or bourbon). You can also use Mozer’s Hazelnut Liqueur Cream for an even nuttier flavour (over 18s only).

  • It’s sweet, it’s creamy, and it’s oh so warming
  • It’s a little trickier to make, but if you’re looking to make it at home, we’d love to see your results

Hot Chocolate with Chilli

Mmmm – one for everyone! This one is a no brainer for us. A smooth, creamy hot chocolate, with just a hint of spice to really warm you up on these cold winter nights.

Such an easy one to make at home. All you need is milk, single cream, your favourite chocolate, and chilli. We suggest checking out our desserts as they’ll go together swimmingly.

If you don’t fancy making this at home, we’re sure you can find a delicious Hot Chocolate any good cafe across the country. Just make sure to ask for the chilli – trust us! 😉

Engel Christmas Special Beer

A Festive Beer

We recommend our delicious Engel beers as perfect for Winter. This high quality beer comes from the Southern part of Germany, is naturally cloudy and amber in colour.

Part of a balanced Xmas Diet

It’s smooth, aromatic, malty, and pairs perfectly with Goose or Turkey. You can buy in 3, 5 and 9 packs, along with a bunch of other festive favourites here.

Hot Toddy

To be fair, this one is great all year round, and even better if you’re feeling under the weather. A delicious combination of whisky, honey, cinnamon, lemon and cloves, this is another one that’s perfect for wandering around the UK’s best Christmas Markets and keeping your hand and hearts warm.
