Valhalla Viking Festival
It’s Summer 2021, we are in Basingstoke and have stumbled across what looks like a Viking village. Confused? Not us, in fact we have found Valhalla the annual Viking festival, held for all Vikings, pagans and heathens alike, where they can unleash their inner Viking for a day or three. Sounds great, but where do we come in? Well in 2021 we had the chance to visit and it was truly an amazing experience. Find out more in our video below:
Action Packed Valhalla
Whether you want to fully embrace your Viking self or just get to know your fellow Heathens, Valhalla has everything you could wish for. Get yourself battle ready by attending the battle training. Or let your inner crafter out and attend one of the crafting workshops. So much to do! All of these activities were extremely popular, and one thing is for certain, they definitely made you work up an appetite.
Feast Fit For a King Viking
Enter the Mead Hall, a rustic tent filled with rows and rows of long tables. The perfect setup for a hearty Viking feast. But to feed the hungry Viking’s you need some top quality grub. Which is were we (The Sausage Man) come in, sausages, burgers and pretzels a plenty to fill sharing platters. Even better, more food appeared once the plates were empty. Our horn was topped up with mead, we were in heaven! Valhalla sure know how to serve a feast.
All about the atmosphere
Now a Viking Festival was something quite new to us, but we embraced it! From walking over hot coals to throwing axes, we had a blast. Of course our favourite time of day was the Viking feast, enjoyed alongside our mead and some fantastic live performances. So, if you want to unleash your Viking self we would recommend attending Valhalla!
