How to Cook and Store Your USDA Choice Ribeye Steak
This is a fully seasoned uncooked/raw product.
Defrost your steaks before cooking. Take your gourmet meat of the refrigerator at least 30 minutes before. It’s very important for the steak to reach room temperature before cooking, and not go directly from the fridge.
Fry: We recommend a cast iron steak pan or skillet. To achieve an optimal frying result, heat your pan to 180°C before adding your steaks. Only turn your steaks if they can be easily detached from the bottom of the pan, and test this with your spatula. Once cooked, allow your steak a rest period of at least 1-2 minutes.

Grill: Gas and electric grills should be preheated for at least 10 – 20 minutes, while coals on the charcoal grill need to be used at full heat – as soon as you get an even white glow, your grill is ready to go. Brush your grill grate with a little oil so that your meat doesn’t stick. Turn your steak every 20 seconds so that the meat juices can be optimally distributed. Once cooked, allow your steak a rest period of at least 1-2 minutes.

When goods are received, frozen items will be safe to return to the freezer straight away. During extended or delayed deliveries please check that these Gourmet Steaks arrive with you at a safe temperature. Because these products are uncooked, if they defrost to fridge temperatures (2-8 degrees) during delivery, then please store in the fridge immediately upon receipt and consume on the same day. Please let us know if you have any issues with the temperature as soon as you can after delivery, and we will fix it for you with our “no quibble guarantee”.
These steaks are uncooked – defrost safely in the fridge before cooking.
Please cook until 75°C core temperature.
We love to make our steaks juicy and pink inside for ourselves. But if you do so too, you do it at your own risk – we need to advise you against it.
