The Jubilee weekend is just around the corner. Now is a great time to make the most of the four-day weekend and get planning for your own Jubilee Street Party BBQ! Our ideas and top tips will help make your Platinum Jubilee celebrations a success, and leave your BBQing skills the talk of the town for years to come.

Place your order

Before you do anything else, make sure you get online here at The Sausage Man and place your order! This is good advice for other shops too – remember that many businesses will be closing on the Thursday, so Wednesday might be your last chance to order. If you want your Sausage Man delivery in time for the Jubilee weekend, you’ll need to order by 2pm on Tuesday 1 June 2022. 

Choose Wisely

Not sure what to get? Our Ultimate BBQ Bundle is a great place to start. Set the Scene

For any Jubilee themed party, plenty of British Union Flags are the obvious choice. Red, white and blue bunting can also help, as can flag-themed table cloths and napkins. A well chosen gazebo or parasol is also a great investment for your event. With the British weather being what it is, something that can act as both shelter from the rain and shade from the sun is absolutely invaluable. Failing that, you might be wise to keep some umbrellas on standby, just in case you need something to keep the rain off your head while you cook.

Salads and Sides

The sausages, burgers and steaks are of course the centre of the attention when it comes to your Jubilee Street Party BBQ, but don’t forget to add some awesome sides as well. Here are a couple of ideas on how to spice up some traditional sides:

Cold German Sausage Salad: a German classic dish that you don’t see every day in the UK. We’ve got a fantastic simple recipe for this from Chef Philli Armitage-Mattin. Find the full steps and video for this here now.

Hot German Potato Salad: This side will be a winner alongside any of our German Sausages. It’s super easy to make too! Simply take boiled baby potatoes and your chosen sausage then chop them both up. Add slices of bacon, a finely chopped red onion, apple cider vinegar, olive oil, Dijon mustard, a sprinkling of sugar and spring onions. Mix together and voila! Hot German Potato Salad. Delicious!

Bacon Jalapeño Corn Salad: Grill your corn on the BBQ and take the corn off the cob, once cooked, throw in few rashers worth of chopped bacon, a sprinkling of coriander, chili powder and garlic powder, a spoon of mayonnaise, juice of 2 limes and then season to taste. This one is super easy, and spices up simple corn on the cob.
